Hi Dakalo,

First, you could just detail your problems with K2 (if there is) and we'll try to help you the best.

Have you read this :

Joomla : docs.joomla.org/Beginners
K2 : community.getk2.org/notes/A_quick_step-by-step_guide_on_installing_and_setting_up_K2

well i have read the k2 link you sent and i just played around with joomla till i was finally comfortable with it ... when i open my control panel these a joomla and k2 data even though i have imported all the information from joomla to k2 1. i want to know how to use k2 as a solo default like i use to with joomla 2. i dont understand this "STEP 10. Assign menus using the Menu Manager.
Options:
Copy or form layout
Item – create a menu item directly to an item in K2
Categories – displays a list of items from one or more categories.
Tag – create a menu linking to a tag in K2"
maybe that can be a problem i have ...
User Page (blog) – create a menu item linking to a user page (blog layout)

Dakalo,

Assigning menus lets users access to your K2 content.

You can have 1000 K2 items, if you don't have a Joomla! menu item linked to a K2 category, item, user, tag...your 1000 K2 items will never be read.

To create an item menu, in the backend, go to 'Menus -> Main menu'. Click on the 'New' button.

You have to know what you want to display :

A specific K2 item : K2 -> Item -> Item

A list of items,
from a K2 category : K2 -> item listings -> Categories
from a K2 tag : K2 -> item listings -> tag
from a specific user : K2 -> item listings -> User page

or finally K2 -> latest items -> latest items

When you'll have configured your item menu, you will have access to your K2 content on frontend.

It's the same process for all Joomla! components.

Dakalo,

It depends on your Joomla! template configuration & features, your menu module configuration.

Those questions are related to Joomla! and not K2. You should take a look at the Joomla! forums for answers.
