I am looking for a way of turning my Joomla site into a blog site.

I ran into K2, and it seems great, but still I haven`t figured out how to accomplish this.

Meaning, How do I add "add blog post" to frontpage, so my users will be able to post blog posts?

Sorry, i may have misread your question.
Maby you want to disable the joomla login and enable the k2 login module and assign that to the front page.
If you have the user groups and users set up with the correct permissions, your users will see "Add New Item" or similar when they log in.
