I have looked around the forum but I must have missed any mention of this problem. I'm sure someone else must have experienced it.When I try to change the image of an item or category on the image tab, the first image that was uploaded there is not overwritten, even if I click in the checkbox to delete it, click on Apply and then try to upload a new image. Clearing the cache also doesn't work.This is very frustrating. Can anyone help?Thanks.

It could be file permissions. Make sure your media folder is writable

I have had the same problem and even with permissions set to 777 I still could not remove the image and had to manually delete the image. To get the file path for your server use firebug to show correct path and delete it, of course after checking to see if the file permissions will work as Steve Karol had mentioned.
