I have a major error when I use the k2items module reads something like:Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated in /home/content/m/a/g/magana09/html/newdemo2/modules/mod_k2items/includes/smartoss.php on line 23and there's moreAny ideas?

I do not find a file - smartoss.php in my 2.3 svn version of k2
I dont find a mod_k2items there either.
What version of K2 are you running?
Is this part of an addon you installed?
I do find references to the error you are getting in another context here

The php file in question is of the k2_items module from Smartoss. The module is an advanced content slider type feature module.

Could you please post a link to the site and attach a picture of your module settings? Lets start there...
Is this a live site?
Plus what other components are you using (ie. JCE editor, JoomSEF, sh404SEF etc...)
and
have you contacted smartoss for any support yet?

DUH!!!! OMG...I totally forgot that fact...I will contact them first before I waste ya'lls time, thanks for the quick and intuitive response....completely appreciate it!

So I got my answer, and they were quick too...:

"In the case, please open modules/mod_k2items/includes/smartoss.php file, at about line 23, find following code section:
$item = SmartOSS::k2Image( &$item ); and change to: $item = SmartOSS::k2Image( $item );

most of the issue is solved...will keep you updated with the other issues...thanks!

Hmmm interesting. I use the k2 item module and don't have that problem thanks, will keep this piece of code for future.
