I've noticed recently that new php files are being created inside my K2 css folder (/components/com_k2/css/). It appears this happens whenever a page is reloaded on my site - you can imagine how quickly these files pile up (I just deleted over 3k)
The file names are unique and here is an example: "css-1d685a71875cff76eb8f2edcce9e93f9.php"

I am not sure if it is ok to attach a file, but I am doing so anyway to give an idea of what is occurring.

I updated to 2.4.1 to see if this would fix the issue, but no-go.

Would really like to figure out what is going on.

thanks

Seems that you use a tool to compress your css File with css gzhandler.

Maybe a Plugin ?

I tracked it down to a plugin called "rokgzipper." I had an out of date version, but upgrading to a newer version didn't help. I uninstalled entirely and things look good.

Thanks for the tip @Troponin

I use rokgzipper on www.modellabs.com and it works as it should in creating compressed .php files.

I had to go into the plugin settings and exclude roktabs and rokstories that didn't work as modified if they were compressed.

I saw those tweets too.  The security issue is what is cause for concern.

I plan on switching to JomCDN and amazon for compression and CDN for www.modellabs.com

Should try @NoNumber_nl CDN extensions for Joomla. It says to work with any CDN system that supports Pull Zones

I already use "CDN for Joomla!" on www.primocraft.com along with MaxCDN

But I also have to use a separate compressor plugin.

That is why I am interested in JomCDN because it compresses and smushits the files before it sends them to Amazon.

I just installed JomCDN on www.modellabs.com  using Amazon S3/Cloudfront

I'll try and post some statistics on the speed increase in the future.
