Upgrade from v2.2 to v2.4.1 error (?) was created by stavroch
I had the v2.2 and I upgrade it to v.2.4.1 without follow the instructions that you describe on the community.getk2.org/notes/index/show?noteKey=Upgrading_from_K2_v2.0_%22prerelease%22_to_v2.0_build_20090806_%22stable%22I just install the new version as a new component installation. After this I found many errors on the plugins/k2/k2jomcomments.php on line 66One bug that I found is that the link of tags has this error page"
Fatal error: Call to undefined function jcCountComment() in /home/XXX/public_html/plugins/k2/k2jomcomments.php
on line 66"

Hi. The error comes from a third-party plugin. Please contact it's developers. Thanks.

My update from v 2.2 to 2.4.1 failed in frontend. Backend works OK, but loading the website's frontend only creates "HTTP 500 - internal server error".
Is this also a question about Third-Party extensions?

Any suggestion on how to deal with the problem? The website is unaccessible. Luckily it's a dummy site for testing compontents. But I need to upgrade the real site with a newer K2.
Does anyone have a good idea how to create a duplicate Joomla/K2 website for testing? Maybe it's my dummy that contains some problems?
Anyway, these are the extensions used (besides K2):
- ChronoContact component and plugin
- JCE Contact component and plugin + JCE Mediabox Plugin
- JComments component, module and plugin
- Joomlaworks All Video plugin
- Joomlaworks Simple Image Gallery PRO plugin
- Show K2 module (add menu item in admin control panel)
- Custom Code Module
- Joomla Issuu Plugin
- Bigshot Google Analytics Plugin

I deleted my non-working dummy and created a new one by these steps:
1. Uploaded a total copy of all files the live Joomla/K2 website to the folder of my dummy
2. Changed the configuration.php file to the new variables
3. Imported a MySQL dump of the live site's db to a specific dummy database
4. Checked that the dummy worked (which it did)
5. I installed the K2 v 2.4.1 over the v 2.2 in the dummy
6. No website available!!!
I have no hacks in K2 core files. I have only added more templates to the folders modules/mod_k2_content and templates/html/com_k2.
Has anyone experienced any problems like this? I don't dare to upgrade the live site until I know what's wrong.

Yes, I get the HTTP 500 - internal server error in IE, FF just shows a blank page instead of the website.
I tried to upgrade to v 2.3 instead, but the result was the same.Rgds

A blank page indicates a PHP error. Please turn on error reporting to see the error. Otherwise i m afraid cannot help you. Thanks.
