Category Alias import bug was created by Olivier Karfis
Hello,
Absolutely loving K2, thanks for all your hard work!
Converting a 400+ item site and after hunting in sh404 configs, I realized that there is an import bug.
Using clean install of K2 2.4.1 importing items from a 1.5.20 database.
Seems like the K2 import does its own Title to Title Alias conversion and disregards the existing Joomla Title Alias field (although the import works with individual Items). Any existing Joomla custom title alias will just get overridden.
As a bonus related bug, while doing the alias conversion, K2 also keeps URL illegal characters like "à" in the alias.
Efharisto poli!

Hi. K2 handles the imported aliases as it was creating new items/categories. You can customize this to fit your needs using the K2 parameters ("SEF URL character replacements" setting). Alternatively you can install unicode slugs plugin. If you do so K2 will assign the alias creation to this plugin. Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.
Are you saying this is not a bug?
Importing a Joomla category with :
Joomla title = "Avoir - French Verb Drills Sample"
Joomla Title Alias = "avoir"
After Import process,
K2 Category title = "Avoir - French Verb Drills Sample"
K2 Category Title Alias = "avoir-french-verb-drills-sample" (should be "avoir" like in Joomla)
Are you saying this is expected behavior?
