I was wondering how to place the itemAuthor on the same line as itemToolbar. I just installed K2 and noticed after the title of the blog then you have author and then the toolbar. The toolbar is aligned right so I have a big empty space on the left and would like to place the author name on the left.

 

I appreciate any help or ideas.

First of all you need to start by making K2 template overrides (copy the folder components/com_k2/templates/ to templates/your template/html/com_k2/templates), if not already. Then open the item.php file in default folder, locate the itemAuthor container block and move it right before the itemToolbar.
You will need to write some CSS also for this to align properly with the itemToolbar.
