Ordering issues across multiple categories was created by Alan Sparkes
This is really bugging me.I have multiple categories. I want a menu item to link to the top level category and show me just four items ordered by first four items in the heirarchy of categories.
It seems frankly impossible and results unpredictable.
Its kind of hard to describe in text so here are some pictures
Category view - how the categories are strcutured and indication of items i would like to see
Category view and what items are actually rendered from menu pointing to articles
Menu params picture
Need less to say top level category is setup to fetch from categories beneath.
I think K2 basically cant do this - hence joomla article frontpage manager?
I tried featured articles to show - as in selecting featured items as my four target items and asking menu to just show featured only......no dice
I dont know if htis is a bug - What makes me think a bug might be in evidence is that there is nothing in the params which predicts the actual display given. Its like i want four items from multiple categories but only the top items in those specific categories.
oh joomla

Hi. You can flag this items as featured and the use the featured ordering column to sort the items as you wish. This like Joomla! frontpage manager.

On the same issue again!
This looks like a real dark area of K2 where its 'broken' or not flexible enough in its queries to achieve standard Joomla results.
mmmm keeps rearing ugly head for me......
