A blank page means something is wrong with the install or your code. But I am certain that this is the solution you are seeking.

I'm actually still facing the same problem. It's still a blank page. And I'm not sure where the logs are.

Blank Page means an error.
Go to Joomla Global settings - Server Tab - and set error reporting to Highest.
When the page loads again it should show you an error message, and get you started figuring out where the problem lies.
