I am new to K2.
Is there a way to hide specific authors?

For example, as the super admin, I am the one adding 99% of the content.  I do not want my name plastered all over the site.  When the site is launched, then I do want all 13 others employees names to appear as authors on their own additions to the site.

I do not want to have to manually Hide the Author in 100's of articles as I create them.

Does anyone have at least a yes or no answer?

This can be done with a custom override for the proper view, item or category, where it displays span class = itemauthor.
It will require php decision making.

i will just manually change the author settings on specific items.

i'm surprised this isn't a common requested enhancement.

If not, then how do other webmasters deal with this issue?

I replaced the item.php in /components/com_k2/controllers with yours but the page now just shows a blank white page.

The site has only one working page at: thebrainpro.com/test/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=item&id=126&Itemid=428

Fixed item.php
it uses this - > item - > created_by != 62
that would be for default administrator
replace the 62 (in line # 67) with whatever you are using as superadmin
