My client has a number of images and descriptions in RSGallery2.
The current modules that we have seen don't display things the way that we want them to nor allow for query sorting

Would K2 enable me to get at the images and descriptions and then display them in rows that we could format with CSS?

In K2 each item has its own image, which is "fixed" at the time the item is saved in several sized and stored seperately so you can reference it in the various sizes. If you are using SIGPro, each item can contain a gallery which can be displayed with the item. A good example of the item image and the gallery can be seen at K2Joom
