I am an absolute beginner and am excited about the possibilities that exist with K2. However, I am at a loss to finding a solid tutorial that walks you into getting started from the ABSOLUTE begining. Has anyone found a tutorial that takes you from creating extra fields to items to making these items show up on the site via links in the core Joomla site.

For the extra fields do the following:

create an extra group field

creat extra fields and put them in the group you created

now go to the category you want to add the extra fields to

set the extra fields group in the select list

check the paramaters in the item view settings and be sure to have extra fields set to show

add an item to that category...be sure to click on the extra fields and put date in at lease one field

now create a menu link to the k2 item and it will show and you will be started off and running!
