I am looking to apply a filter on my displayed articles. This filter will be displayed on top of the articles like this (Filter By: Most Recent | Popular) where if someone clicks on Most Recent, the recent articles related to that category are shown and clicking on Popular shows the most viewed.

 

I know i can use the K2_tools to create a module for displaying a limited number of articles (with links) but this is for a filtering all the Most Recent and Most Popular ones ...

 

Any idea on how to achieve this.

 

Should I go ahead and create a custom module, that when clicked fetches all the recent items for the displayed category and show them all? of is there some other workaround for this?

 

Any help/assistance in this regard would be highly appreciated :)

Got it sorted out!

 

Here is what i did ... 

1- Created two modules ( one for most recent, second for most viewed) (mod_k2_content)

2. Created two items and used {loadposition } to load the modules

2- Created a menu item and linked it with those two modules. 

and 

DONE !!!!!!! 

 

The only things i had to do was to created an additional template for mod_k2_content to display the articles properly.
