I see I can global shut off comments but is it possible to turn it on for a category or for select items/articles?

 

Also curious if people install K2 just for the blog feature and leave the rest of their site using the Joomla Core setup/interface.

 

I'm very knew to K2 and have been watching a lot of videos and playing around with it and it seems awesome so now I'm curious how people use.
