I have well over 1,200 articles at my site, posted by various authors. Is there a way to quickly tell how many news items were posted by each other?

If you have access to phpmyadmin you can select the item table and in the sql tab run queries on it something like

select * from jos_k2_items where author="authorid" and category="newcategoryid" (not texted)
