Always show subcategories was created by Emmanouil
Hello there,

lets say we have a category named home, with subcategories chair, sofa and bed.

Something like this:

Home

-chair

-sofa

-bed

When i click on "Home" i can see the subcategories and the items from home.

Is there a way to make the subcategories be always visible?

So if i am for example in sofa,i want to be able to see the other subcategories of home as well in the top of the screen. Just like if i am in Home.

Thanks in advance!

A very crude way to do that would be to create an "article" and put the category images directly into it with a link to each subcategory page. Each subcategory page would be a copy of the first "article" with a different loadposition module below it for that particular k2 subcategory from mod_k2content. As i said very crude way.

It will be interesting to see if someone will come up with dynamic code for the subcategory listing in category.phpthat will display as a "sorta header portion of the content area" as the original category.php instead of drilling down into the categories as intended.

Hi Manolis,

Yes, as William says, this can be done with some php code in a custom K2 template that retrieves categories info and display them where you want in the page.

How exactly is your category structure ? Only one level or many ?
