After hours and hours of searching  and trying fixes, did anybody come up with an easy solution to....

 

1) Disable the frontend iframe window from popping up when editing an item?  2) Add a close button on the editing window?I have a whole crew of news people waiting for me to fix this edit window problem.   Some can view the pop-up iframe, most cannot.  I just want to disable it completely.  But then of course if disabled there isn't a close button on the edit window.

 

Why the heck can this not be solved easily?

If info is out there, very tricky to find.  Forums are often not ideal places to hunt down fixes due to the sheer volume of discussion, pouring through pages from keyword searches, unanswered posts, etc.   The official K2 tips and tricks pages isn't even categorized.  Then I see wording like "Front Side Editor".... huh?  Can't K2 stick to the known Joomla lingo such as 'frontend'?
