I'm using sh404sef to rewrite urls but the options in K2 are a bit limited. I want to pass the Item Author name to sh404sef so that it will appear in the url and the page title automatically.

 

Something like:

 

http:www.mysite.com/Author name/item name.html

 

Right now you can only include category names which aren't very useful for me. I want google to better index my authors as well as the item content.

 

Since the option isn't available in the preferences for K2 I thought I would hack the sef file to pass along authors instead of categories. I thought I would post here to see if anyone has already done this or had any advice before I started toying with the code.
