JCEditor doesn't show in the Extra Fields (while TinyMCE does). Yes, "Use Editor" is checked... ;-)  

 

After thoroughly searching the forum here (and at jce) I've found the only solution offered to be the files at:

It's 9 months later -  might there be a newer (hopefully sexier) solution?

 

If not, can someone provide instructions as to how to use above linked files?

 

i.e.  are they to replace installed files, or is the code supposed to be added to the files, and if so, how exactly?  ....   (for us novice and timid coder types out here... )

Looking at theses files it seems these changes are implemented in k2 2.4.1.   JCE in extra fields WAS working for me just fine, but for some reason broke.  It still works fine using Chrome. 

However, in Firefox I can no longer see the editor in the main editor window, as well as Extra Fields.

 

Update - I reinstalled an older version of JCE (1.5.7.7) and it now works properly.  I was using 1.5.7.10, and 1.5.7.11

 

 

Where did you download the older versions from ... I have this same problem?

I have the same problem. On sites that I have not updated JCE it works great. On sites with versions newer than 1.5.7.7 the editor does not load on the extra fields page. Seems like a JCE problem.

I had the problem even with 1.5.7.7 ... im pretty sure it is a K2 problem.

 

Make sure you have these latest files from the K2 repository and it should work:
