Hi,

 

I am trying to allow users to edit their own articles from front end.

 

When user logs in and goes to their article to edit, they get this error when saving:


You don't have the permission to publish items.


Item saved

It does save the changes, but it unpublishes the article.  I setup the user group to have:

Post comments=no

Front-end item editing = yes

Add Items = no

Edit Own Items = yes

Edit any item = no

Publish items = yes

 

I assign the group permission to the K2 category that the article belongs to and make sure the user is author of the article.

 

I'm using k2 v2.4.1, Joomla 1.5.20 and JCE editor 1.5.7.10.

 

Am I missing something?  Appreciate any suggestions.

a quick test shows that you must be able to add an item in order to publish an item. Either you are going to approve the new items and the edited ones or you are going to let the creator publish (add) the item

Thanks William, I am able to add these fine now.  I was never interested in the user to be able to add items, just edit existing items.  I guess that is where I was confused with the add item option.

I get the same error message. Item is being saved and unpublished. I am logged in as Super User. How do I give myself permission to publish items?

You have to select Allow editing of already published items as well
