Hello, I recently moved a Joomla site with heavy K2 usage to a new virtual dedicated server.  Now when trying to access K2 categories, add new categories or various other K2 functionality, I am getting errors similar to this:

 

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /home/bccc/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 55

 

I tried reinstalling K2, but that had no effect.  It looks to me like we are missing some files that contain the encoding functions.  Any idea how to fix this?

Going to answer my own question this time.  The problem was that the apache server did not have mbstring enabled.  I had to rebuild after enabling mbstring.  Haven't tested yet, but I am fairly confident this will fix the issue.  I will follow up when I know for sure.
