We posted this on the general forum but after 2 days, and no responses we decided to post it here.

 

We have 3 K2 components on the front page... and items, info and images are duplicating content in each of these items. If we change a picture and words in one component... it changes the info in all three.

 

We want to separate them so they can't do this and the content in each is different. Not sure why the programmers would make this so difficult to add content without it appearing in three different locations. Any reason you guys linked all this as a default? This is getting seriously annoying... and as with other components we've had issues with... this one will go south and replaced with another that is more user friendly. I realize that everyone seems to think K2 is the most amazing component yet... but to be honest... from a functional standpoint... and support standpoint... it's nothing short of a nightmare.

 

Any help would be appreciated by someone who knows why this is doing this, and can actually answer our question. Sorry to sound somewhat rude... but after 3 months of working with Joomla, Jomsocial and the components that make then work together... I'm about to abandon anything remotely associated with these programs.

 

Never seen anything like this from a business standpoint. People post questions... and they go unanswered for weeks. You guys think we have nothing better to do? 

Come on, people, we know this is a simple matter set in the parameters that we just haven't been able to find-PROBABLY because we don't know where to look because we're new to both Joomla and K2 and we do a lot of flying blind. Help would be fantastic, insight, or any useful ideas we might be able to work with as to where to find how these components are linked. We're building a website we have great hope for, that people will find useful and entertaining-so please help us find what we're looking for so we can get back to adding content and launching the site instead of focusing on searching for why article components repeat.

This does not make since.  K2 is 1 component.  What you are saying is you installed K2 three times?  are you talking about modules?  If you are talking about modules, then you can select which categories you want to show in each module.  Can you post a pic of your module parameters or your frontpage to see what you are talking about
