Hi, I've been advised that in order to achieve what I need to achieve that I need to create another K2 template and then link the category that my K2 items are attached to, to another K2 template and then edit/style that alternate K2 template.

 

Apologies if I haven't explained myself correctly, if my understanding is correct, it's:

K2 Edit Category>Parameters>Category Item Layout>Layout Template, Select a Template

 

The question I have is h ow do I go about doing this and how do I know that when I am styling this new template that I not going to mess my whole website up.

There won't be any problems when you create a new k2 template because only the category you have assigned the template sill take it into account.
