Im relatively new to Joomla but experienced in other cms

I need to make jSON output from Articles and articles list from this K2 component including extra fields. Can you point me in the right direction?

Basically i need rss feeds to include some extra fields and make this output in jSON format.
Thanks in advance for any help or link to another forum post you can provide.
Can the K2 API provide this or is it already included in some way?
