How can I modify K2s category list to show the items that belong to a sub-category underneath the sub-category column?

 

If I show the sub category blocks there is a link to "View All Items" under the sub-category title , instead I would like for all items belonging to the sub-category to be listed directly under the sub-category title. (similar to Joomla's category blog layout)

 

Any insight into how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 

Instead of hacking the K2 core files is there a way to add the item image gallery to the K2 content module??? This would essentially allow me to accomplish the same thing as above.
