Problems Saviing Edits When Using IE9 was created by Bill Peifer
Although I love many of the features of K2 I'm actually having several issues with it, but the largest single issue deals with Internet Explorer 9. I have a user with publisher rights within a subcategory who cannot save edits when using IE9. He's able to edit and save using Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, but the save just "doesn't take" if he uses IE9. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a patch to fix it?

My second issue is with the default editor. Is there any way to install the editing interface I'm looking at right now? The default editor pretty much sucks, with no capability of changing the font, font size or color without going into the HTML code, which I can't expect my users to try to figure out.

Please, can someone help with these two issues?

I had to get round the issue by using a plugin which forced ie9 to drop into ie8 mode

Not satisfactory really but it did the job

Have you tried JCE editor?

No, I haven't tried anything yet. I'm new to both Joomla and K2 and was hoping to get some suggestions. Thanks for making one.

www.joomlacontenteditor.net/

Download page - www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/joomla15x

Unzip it then install via install mananger, it will automatically install all components and plugins in required.

Go to Joomla global configuration and set the default editor to be JCE editor not tiny

Thanks for the tip. I just found it and installed it. It looks great . . . far more than I'd hoped for, actually.

I'm having the same problem with a site - we cannot choose a category or tags in the backend when creating a new item.  Haven't had much luck finding a fix.  Saw this just now but not sure it would help: downloads.ijoomla.com/joomla-downloads/style-a-design/browse...

The site uses JCE by default but this issue lies within the K2 part of the item, not the content area.
