Does anyone know the php code to echo the total of the K2 items?

 

I'd like to put a footer on my front page to show the total articles on the site.

 

Many ideas?

You can see how it's being echoed for category - > no of items in category.php

 

Sub Category Eg : <?php echo $subCategory->name; ?><?php if($this->params->get('subCatTitleItemCounter')) echo ' ('.$subCategory->numOfItems.')'; ?>
