i am using joomla with K2 on localhost. i want a proper portfolio like feature on my website. i will explain with example. 

 

i want a k2 category called wildlife-pics which is linkable by main menu. when you click on menu-item, you should see 10 pics in a vertical column with small descriptions. when u click on the pic or title, u go in and see complete description and small pic. on clicking the pic now, u should be able to download it.

 

is it possible with k2? i already have this on wordpress, but i want to adopt joomla/k2 now.

 

if yes, please guide me.

Hi yamalajatt,

 

Create a Category called WildLife-Pics.

Set the K2Parameters -> Category View Options to hide Sub Category Block in layout handling.

Set the K2Parameters -> Item view options in category listings - Hide the rest except the title, link on title , introtext and image.

 

Next add item and choose WildLife-Pics category. Add details or description and add a readmore to separate from the intro text and full text display in item view. Click on the image tab and upload an image.

 

Just create a K2 category menu item and link to WildLife-Pics. You're done.

 

If you want to add image gallery where user can download. Just install SIG-Pro.
