My K2 category layout shows up one article after another - I would like to just show a summary and then a read more to the next article.

In the category settings try setting the number of items you want to show in leading, primary, etc

In the item view in category settings set the intro text to some number 30

you should get a list of items and a few words...with a readmore, and at the bottom a next previous button
