Hi I run a web dev company with a friend, we are very experienced with joomla compared to any other CMS and wish to stick to it for this particular project.

 

The project involves importing hundreds of thousands, even millions of listings, then providing a better search facility for them.

 

The search engine will be run by Lucene/Solr - we realise there is no out of the box solution yet.

 

My question is, can K2 handle millions of listings? Can a listing be pulled out of a database so large?

 

What considerations should I think about? Taxonomy etc.

 

Should I just bite the bullet and learn Drupal which is almost ready to go out of the box for such a project.
