New to K2. I'd like to iinstall the package on a site that has Joomla 1.7. I keep getting this error:

 

Fatal error: Call to undefined method JXMLElement::getElementByPath() in D:\Hosting\4641474\html\fearthecheese\administrator\components\com_k2\install.k2.php on line 25

 

Anyone have a clue as to where I should be looking to find what's wrong? Thanks much in advance for any help!

OK, that explains. K2 v2.4.1 is for Joomla 1.5. The new version of K2 v2.5 for Joomla 1.5,1.6 and 1.7 is still under RC, you can download it here.

Cool, check the Components dropdown menu. You will see the new menu there :D

Sorry, should have been more thorough in my post. I looked in all the menu sections including components and nothing is there. I do see the k2 modules installed under Menu Manager, but the components tab has nothing new. Tried loging out/in and nothing.

Ah, one more thing to add, the installation tossed out a message about not finding the Joomfish component, but then after that it declared that the installation was ok. Was the Joomfish plugin (not having it) the issue?

William if it's normal what do i have to do to follow up? There's no K2 dashboard link ANYWHERE. I've looked in every menu, submenu, etc. Any idea what might have happened to do this?
