How do I migrate K2 items from the Joomla 1.5 version of K2 to the new K2 2.5?

I have thousands of articles and images that need to be migrated over when I change from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.7 (or 1.8 in January).

Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Im sure there will be more info soon on moving sites,

What i have done is

back up existing site

install 2.5 on the 1.5 site (check that items are there)

use the Jupgrade tool to upgrade the site

Reinstall k2 2.5 so it gets the 1.7 version installed

Now its time to reconfigure the templates and all the rest, but your data should be there
