Item-image upload issue was created by Sibren Wilkeshuis
Hello all,

i have a strange issue. When i choose a photo as item-image (through the 'image'-tab), and then click "save", i get an empty screen with the following message: "No Data received - Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data." . This happens with all browsers (safari, chrome, firefox). In each browser the message is little different.

But just inserting images in the 'content' tab, between the item text, gives no problem. Also uploading images in the media manager goes well.

So it seems to be a specific item-image issue within K2.

I work on Mac OS-X Lion, and Mamp installed. Latest Joomla version (2.5.6) and K2 (2.5.7)

Does anyone have the same problem?

Looking forward to any reaction

tnx in advance

Sibren

Hi. Are uploads enabled on your server? Also check that directory permissions are correct.

Hi there,

uploads are enabled, and directory permissions are all correct.

While, when i migrate this joomla site from my mac to Xamp on my PC, there is no issue with the item-image. Anyway, alle joomla sites with k2 on PC do well.

i tried many things, such as removing Mamp completely, do a fresh install, and then a fresh joomla and k2 installation, and the problem remains.

The strange thing is, that this only happens with:
• item image
• category image

All other uploads go well: uploading images in media manager, or directly uploading images in the item text / content area.

I hope to find out what this can be,

appreciate your help

Since other uploads fail i guess that this has to do with the class.upload.php that K2 uses to perform such uploads. Probably the mime detection fails, we have meet again such issues.

I don't know if it helps but I found that the problem comes when calling this function:

I use K2 and Joomla.

I tried to modify class.upload.php like mentioned in the blogs.

set 3 values to false but no result
