One my problems with the K2 extension last time I used it was that all the accompanying CSS and javascript files loaded on every page of my site, even where K2 wasn't being used.

Zoo, another Joomla CCK, didn't do this. I could setup a knowledge base or blog area and only have the Zoo scripts load when those pages were accessed.

Is there a way to accomplish this with K2? Performance is an ongoing area of concern with Joomla so I would love to be able to use the extension without the rest of my site getting weighed down.

Hi. Currently K2 loads those files using a system plugin so there is nothing you can do without messing with code. However keep in mind that once a file is loaded by the browser, it will be cached in the next page request.
