Hello everyone!

This is my first post as a member of this community. It wouldn't have been hadn't I tried every method known to man to try and override K2 templates, to no avail.

I run a website built by someone else on Joomla 1.7, K2 and GavickPro's Musicity Template.
When I try and move the files from components/com_k2/templates/default to templates/gk_musicity/html/com_k2/templates/TmplName, change the item.php a bit, for instance, and then assign the TmplName to a certain category, nothing ever happens.

I also tried overriding admin panel templates, following Jurawa's beautiful article , but nothing happens anyway.

The thing is when I make a clean Joomla installation on my computer, install K2 and Musicity and try the two steps mentioned above, the result is just fine. I am able to override any template to any extent (this makes me very happy).

So I guess what I am asking is: anyone has any idea where to start looking for the problem? The template? The database? The ever-conflicting plugins?
