Whenever I publish an article with a picture from the backend
using k2 I see only contents appearing at the front end without
the corresponding pictures.
How can I fix the error?

Hi. Is the image actually uploaded? Can you preview the image in the backend? Also try to re-check that the category settings are correctly setup regarding the images.
