Problems with images in backend editor was created by profiracing
hi

we're using the latest version and i have the following problem on two installations:

When i try to browse for an image which is already uploaded to the server, i cannot see images. I always see only the directories below /images, which is correct. There are multiple .jpg, .png and other files in it, but nothing is visible, so i cannot select any image.

When i upload an image from my local system, the file is uploaded (checked this via ftp) but the next time i try to select the image i cannot see any image in the "browse server" dialog.

Have a look at the screenshot....

Hi. It sounds like a permissions issue. Make sure that the images uploaded are accesible by the user running PHP on your server.

Even if i give 777 permissions i cannot see any pictures. I can also upload images in the folders, but after uploading they are not visible in the select image dialog.

OK, silly question, but do you have GD enabled? Also the media manager creates the thumbnails to a tmp directory which also needs to be writable.

HI,

phpinfo shows me that gd is enabled. Should i make some settings in the backend area for K2 working with GD? Here the information from my phpinfo file....

gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
FreeType Version 2.4.4
T1Lib Support enabled
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

Just attached another picture. I noticed that in the media manager the .jpg files are shown as type "application". Is this normal? also wenn i rightclick-> preview i cannot see an image preview.

No this is not normal... Are you under Apache? Or any other server? Have you added any custom .htaccess rules? I cannot think of anything else, probably something is wrong with the server setup.
