Shhhh they don't like to talk about SEO around here, I think you need a component like sh404sef to add meta title like you want, other than those you can create in joomla menu manager, K2's biggest SEO short-coming is that it creates duplicate urls which google don't like.

As you correctly said the title is set automatically by the item title. If you need different title you can write a K2 plugin for doing this.

if you see last version zoo youtheme have this funktion but I've been working with k2. I want to do as well, this is very important for the promotion of yandex.
