K2 is a great extension and want to implement it to a site I have been using for many years now.

The Joomla articles are very easy to import but the problems arises with the URL. I was thinking of just erasing all of Joomla articles after importing into K2 but I will also have to redirect all the thousands of old URLs to the new URLS to the K2 articles.

I am using sh404sef.

Is there a fast and easy way to do this or is it just not recommended to use K2 for old sites?

Hi. If you delete all your K2 items before make the import then K2 will preserve the IDs of the articles. Then you can do all redirects using just a simple plugin system plugin. Note that this is the case for links coming from external sites such as Google. For the links in your site you just need to update your menus.
