hello, i have nested some categories, the parent category has no items in itself, it only contains children categories. children cats contain different amount of items.

in category view, i can see each children category list the right amount of items, but the parent category displays 0.

is there any way for the parent category to inherit the sum of the children categories?

it looks very misleading to show the parent category with a 0 count.

Hi. Set the category to show the items of the children categories. Otherwise you need to do it by your own by suming the children categories in your layout file.

Can you be more specific as to how to accomplish this? i have tried different configurations to no avail.

There is a setting in the category edit page named "Catalog mode". You need to set it to "No".

setting it to yes is not ideal for me, i dont want to see children items but only categories and subcategories.

is there any way to turn of the count on the main category only but let it show in the subcategories?

can i place a feature request for future updates to acomplish the category count even though the catalog mode is set to yes?

Look at the settings. There is a setting for showing/hiding category count.
