Cannot Create Categories was created by Tunji Opayele
Hi,
Anytime i try to create a new category in k2 or import from the content component to K2 i get this error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_regex_encoding() in /home/******/public_html/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2category.php on line 93
I searched the forum for related problems and i saw something about MbString. It is enabled on the server
Please what can i do about this.

This kind of error is usually seen when mbstring is Not Enbled on the server
Go to the k2 dashboard and click on the information tab, and see if K2 "knows" that mbstring is enabled

Thats it. If this is a new install of K2 i would back up the site first, then reinstall k2.

Hi. What version of PHP are you using? The error is clear. It says that the function "mb_regex_encoding" is not defined. That means that you should enable it in your server. This function is part of PHP Multibyte String functions. So ensure that it is enabled. Also check your server setup for any disabled functions.
