Most of the time I do not want the read more link to show so I have turned it off in the K2 parameters. I have also turned it off in my category views.

In the category menu items I am able to override the setting if I want the read more link to show.

But in the tag menu items there is no override. It's either all items get the read more link even when there is nothing more to read or none of the items get the read more link. I've been forced to put in a direct link to the item if I want to have a read more on an tag based page.

Is there a better solution?

Hi. Make a K2 template. Then go to the menu link pointing to the tag and set it to use this template. Then on the tag.php of the template you can do whatever you want.
