I have another issue which would be glad to resolve around here.

I have a k2 module to display news from a category.
The url from main menu for this category gives me link as follows:

index.php/component/k2/item/23-video

but when I enter other menu item from the main menu to let's say
index.php/director-1
after clicking the same /display news/ module item, it redirects me to

index.php/director-1/item/23-video

what could cause this ?

Hi. This is how Joomla! builds it's URLs. If you need better handling of URLs try to make some menu links to your categories or use an extension like SH404SEF.

I am afraid of using sh404sef becuase I remember there were unsolvable problems with assigning modules to the items. (I use a lot of custom module positions which appear or not between the categories)

nevermind, looks like newer version is friendlier than the other, just had to setup some menu items and associate the modules with them, also select correct duplicates with the itemids.
