Users and privileges was created by Apostolis
Hello guys,

i' ll get straight to the point.

the url is apostolis.redpanda.gr .

Well if you take a look at the bottom you will notice two menus called Eidikotites 2 and Eidikotites which both of them contain some items.

I want each item to be seen by different users...

For example i want Rheumatology to be seen only from specific users (with specific password and username) so i made in k2 component a new user called rheumatologist and i gave username and a password.

I made the category Rheumatologist set to Registered and that's okay.

I tried to do the same thing with the other items and then something strange happened.

Using the username and the password of Rheumatology i could see the content of the other two categories too.

OR using the username and the password of Cardiology i could see the content of the other two categories.

This something i do not want!!

I have not used the user k2 groups just ONLY k2 users.

What is wrong with it?

Could you please help me in order to make it.

Hi. K2 users are regular users. In order to restrict the viewing you need to create the corresponding access levels. So create the two access levels, assign each user to the access level and then set your content to be available only for the desired access levels.

Could you please be more specific what do you mean by corresponding access levels?

In k2 component i only see users and k2 user groups.

I made three user groups with the same previleges (eg only post comments)

and then i created three users (with specific username and password) and i assigned each user to a unique k2 user group.

But i stil see no option in order to restrict a user from having access to all categories when he is logged in.

I have been cofused over this matter lately and i cannot understand it.

K2 permissions affect the front-end editing only and comments. To restrict viewing you need to use Joomla! access levels as you would do with any extension. Go to "Users"->"Access Levels" and set the access levels as you wish. Then you should give your content the desired access level by editing a K2 category or a K2 item.
