I would like multiple columns on the page.
What is the best menu item type to use, e.g. item, user page (blog), latest items from (one or more) users or categories? I'm swimming in possibilities and I don't know which direction to take!

Hi. It depends on your content. You can use a menu link to a K2 category and set the number of columns in the category settings.
