I've just upgraded K2 to version 2.5.7 and installed K2 translate to Portuguese - PT.

Even though I have my Joomla 1.5.26 in both english en-GB and Portuguese pt-PT (Administrator and Site) when I try to install K2 translate in Portuguese I get the error

Language Install: No core pack exists for the language :pt

Therefore, my site is now totally f...'d up!

I've manually uploaded the translation files to administrator/language and /language but nothing seems to work.

It seems like a nightmare that now I'm depending on this component and can't get back to core joomla content... Or, is there a way to migrate K2 content back to Joomla?

Hi. Have you picked the correct K2 language pack? There is a list of K2 language packs at getk2.org/extend/translations

Yes, I've picked the right translation pack.

Unfortunately, the prefix for Portuguese (Portugal) is wrong... and that's the reason why the whole thing doesn't get properly translated.

It should be: pt-PT and not pt

By correcting the prefix and moving the files to the right folders it works!
It only needs a bit of word-polishing to be perfect.

By the way, do you know where User Pages are translated?

I've checked pt-PT.com_K2.ini and pt-PT.mod_K2.content.ini and all other files but I can't seem to translate

Look at the en-GB language file. If a variable is missing from the translation you can add it. Or you can notify the guys that actually made this file at www.transifex.net/projects/p/k2/
