I finally found why some of my K2 sites would not allow author change, why the modal would load in a new window, why I could not change access level. The database is corrupt for K2 users. You must refer to your Joomla User Manager for each user details needed below.

This fix requires database access.

Locate your table #prefix_k2_user

Delete any blank user creations

Edit the Super User. Mine was set as Administrator with a 62 userID - obviously a leftover from an upgrade. In my case, I edited it to be Super User, userID 42, image NULL, group 1
Enter other users in same fashion

Check backend K2 User and Groups

Test Item edits. All should be functioning properly. :cheer:

I was so excited to see this post after I have been struggling with this for a couple of months now.
When I checked my k2_users in phpmyadmin I saw 2 blank users and thought bingo! Problem solved!.

But after going back to my K2 backend, clearing all caches, etc, my problem persists! :(

Hi Andy,

Yes, I found a few sites that my brilliant fix didn't work on too. :( Still working on the fix...
