Cannot Save new or existing Items was created by Kevin Struck
I did the upgrade over the weekend and received that CPANEL error but I also cannot save any new or existing content. After hitting the Save or Save and Close button, I just get a blank page. The edits I made are lost or the item I created is lost.

I reverted back to the old version and I am still having the issue.

Anyone else seeing this issue? Any fix for it?

Turn on error reporting to see the error. Also note that K2 2.6 is ONLY compatible with 1.5, 2.5 and 3 versions of Joomla!

I am using Joomla 2.5.7

Here is the error:

Turn off language debugging when you are on a production site. Joomla! puts those asterisks around the date to indicate that the date is translated but this causes PHP to throw an error when tries to parse the date. So enable just system debugging and try again.

As requested, I turned that off.

Now the only button that works is the CANCEL button. "Save", "Save and New" and "Save and Close" do not function at all.

The only errors I see on the page are:

Notice: Please install JoomlaWorks Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin if you want to use the image gallery features of K2!
Notice
Notice: Please install JoomlaWorks AllVideos plugin if you want to use the full video features of K2!
Please select a category first to retrieve its related "Extra Fields"...

These happen when I am creating a new item or editing an existing. For editing an existing, there is already a category selected obviously but still get the error.

Try to:

1 . Use the K2 SVN version.
2. If the issue is not resolved with the SVN version check your browser for javascript errors and let me know.

EDIT: Never mind, found it.

Now the Save buttons work, but after I click save I get a blank white page. The Source code is showing this, it is like it just stops loading the code:

Looks like I found the issue.

I removed something called "Smart Search", and replaced it with a different search component (AcePRO) as requested by client. I unpublished all the smart search plugins, but did not realize there was a K2-SmartSearch plugin.

I unpublished the K2-SmartSearch plugin and now everything is working as expected.

Question is should I now go back to the regular k2 version or just leave the SVN version installed?
