I entered over 100 articles with my own name and am now trying to change the names to the correct authors, as I originally didn't have the list of their names. When I do, it won't let me. It either gives me a blank white screen or it says the author isn't there.

What's odd is that it let me change about 20 and then froze me out. Even odder is that it recognized an author for one article and then when it started to go wonky, it says the author didn't exist, even though the author was used for several different articles.

Do you know what could be causing the problem? Thank you very much for your help.

Did you upgrade or migrate this site from a j1.5 site
what is the id of the user who currently owns the item
what is the superadmin user id
I think there were changes in the superadmin user id between 1.5-6-7-and 2.5 and i think i have read before where there were problems on upgrade

I upgraded to 2.5 a few months ago. This is a sub-domain that I migrated my info to so I could build the site without users seeing it.

I looked for the info you asked about and I just noticed when I put my name in (all the articles are under my name), there are 2 accounts for me. One was set up when I imported from Joomla. Do you think this could be part of the problem? I'm totally ignorant to this sort of stuff.
